Polish furniture companies at Expo 2020 Dubai
An opportunity to expand into Middle Eastern markets and promote the furniture industry is Expo 2020 Dubai. The Polish Investment and Trade Agency, which is responsible for the presence of our country at the World Exhibition, has been supporting Polish companies from the outset. This is aided by the economic programme prepared especially for this occasion, which consists of several initiatives. At Expo 2020 Dubai, Polish furniture companies are showcasing their products and greatest achievements. In the exhibition zone "Poland. Spirit of ingenuity" you can explore their flagship products. One of the Polish furniture companies that can boast great successes is Paged Meble.
The Jasienica-based company has been manufacturing furniture for 140 years. It attaches great importance to manual production and ensures that the materials used in their furniture are ecological. The company specialises in beech wood bending technology, produces 480,000 pieces of furniture a year, applies 20 artisanal processes and is present in 76 countries on six continents. Another furniture manufacturer presenting its export and investment potential is VOX. Middle Eastern markets attract the Polish furniture industry
For Poland, the markets of Middle Eastern countries are very attractive and prospective directions for further expansion of the industry. The demand for furniture in this part of the world is growing steadily, and Poland has been reporting more and more successes over the past few years In Saudi Arabia, Polish furniture is among the top 10 for foreign suppliers. Much credit is due to the office of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency in Riyadh that has helped to finalise large contracts in this country and actively supports Polish entrepreneurs. Polish furniture is popular in the United Arab Emirates and Qatar. Customers appreciate the highest quality of products and Polish companies enjoy a good reputation. The success of the Polish furniture industry in the Middle East is confirmed by statistics. Between January and April 2015, furniture exports to Saudi Arabia reached EUR 10.6 million. The United Arab Emirates came second in this area with EUR 8 million and Qatar with EUR 2.6 million.
Successes of Polish furniture companies in the Persian Gulf
These impressive figures were achieved thanks to the successes of Polish companies. One of them is the Nowy Styl Group from Krosno, which is present at the Polish Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai. The company has been manufacturing furniture for almost 30 years and is a tycoon on the market. Interestingly, however, it started with three chairs models. It then expanded its operation in the direction of manufacturing office furniture and furnishing public utility places. The company was founded on the initiative of Adam and Jerzy Krzanowski. In the mid-1990s, it began expanding abroad. Today, Nowy Styl offers its products in more than 100 countries around the world, has manufacturing facilities in as many as 7 of them, and in 2020 it reached a revenue of EUR 386 million. Nowy Styl currently has several product brands - one of which is Stylis Hotel Solutions, which creates solutions for the Middle Eastern hotel industry. The Nowy Styl Group has been cooperating with Stylis Dubai for several years now and has also acquired the majority stake in the company. This cooperation has resulted in almost 6,000 rooms equipped in 21 hotels in Saudi Arabia. In Dubai, Nowy Styl owns a 1200m2 showroom. Nowadays, it not only supplies furniture, but primarily oversees the entire hotel interior design process – from carpets to beds to lighting. Yet another very successful Polish company is Szynaka Meble, a family business that can boast over 60 years of experience in furniture making. For the past few years, it has been flourishing in Saudi Arabia where it keeps concluding contracts with new trade partners. Among its most important achievements is the furnishing of one of the largest car dealerships in the area.
The presence of the furniture industry in the Middle East was strengthened during the Index Dubai Trade Fair, which took place between 17 and 19 September 2019. Poland had a national stand featuring 70 exhibitors and the success of this project was ensured by the Polish Investment and Trade Agency. The fair is the largest meeting of the broadly understood design industry in this part of the world, including furniture suppliers, architects and interior design companies.
